Café of the Week: Henry Lee's, Redfern
Henry Lee's is a concept café kitchen hidden in a Redfern Laneway (entrance off Hart Street). As you enter through the iron gate, you are greeted with a light-filled industrial space which blends the indoors and outdoors with a plant-filled urban courtyard.
Henry Lee's have collaborated with local small batch producers, growers and suppliers to ensure the menu showcases the best of what the region has to offer. Using local meats, eggs, seafood and fruit and vegetables, Henry Lee's executes an exciting menu with innovative offerings.
Start your morning with the Buttermilk Hotcakes served with strawberry, blueberry + elderflower compote, pistachio brick pastry, vanilla ice cream + pistachio crumble. As the afternoon rolls around, think 'The Henry Lee' - on a toasted milk bun there is a succulent grass fed angus beef patty, a slab of free range bacon, melted American cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber pickle served with a secret sauce. This is guaranteed to wake up your tastebuds.
Coffee is The Little Marionette Blend 7 Sanchez as it's house blend daily. It's big and bold, and perfectly balanced for a morning wake up kick. The beverage list is amazing so explore and enjoy! We highly recommend the Taro Latte if you're looking to try something different.
We walked away feeling like we had uncovered something very special having visited Henry Lee's. It's a polished establishment with extremely friendly wait staff serving beautiful food with a huge amount of pride.
