Our Top 5 Favorite Healthy Cafés in Sydney
Eating out can be an unintentional exercise in upsizing even if you choose the ‘healthy option’, as who knows what secret ingredients chefs are adding to make their meals taste so good. We have scoured Sydney to bring you some of the healthiest cafés who take clean eating very seriously.
Shop 8/920 Military ROAd, Mosman
Raw, Ethical, Nutritious is the motto here. This boutique juice and raw bar with strong sustainability practices is reflected in all on offer. All of the cold pressed juices and meals are created on site, ensuring the very best nutritional value possible. Fabulous for eat in meals or a quick takeaway from the 'grab and go' menu.
200 PITTWATER ROAD, MANLY
This wonderfully healthy café focuses on sustainability and wholesome goodness. You can sit back and relax, as this part of Manly is far removed from the mediocre choice of touristy spots you find on the Corso. An added bonus to this café is a beautifully presented organic grocer where you can stock up on all your favourite goodies including freshly baked bread. If a superfood exists that isn't available at Ruby Lane, I would be surprised to hear it! Take a LONG look at the menu, as this is not your regular breakfast fare. We love the Açai Bowl topped with organic fruits, nuts and seeds.
With a chilled, laid back vibe in Summer, to a cosy relaxed Winter feel, North Manly is blessed!
272-274 Willoughby ROAd, Naremburn
Whether you choose to sit out on the back verandah where families tend to congregate, on the wooden cube tables on the pavement, great for couples or inside which is anyone's domain, everyone is here for the same reason, healthy food. The philosophy here is simple and that is to negotiate the tricky balancing act of serving healthy food that tastes really good.
17/64-68 Pitt ROAd, North Curl Curl
Cooh Café proudly serves organic, free range, locally caught, hormone free, gluten free, dairy free food, but most importantly it's honest food full of flavour. As Cooh North Curl Curl continues to thrive, Cooh has now established itself as a major player close to the powerhouse that is The Grounds in Alexandria, now that's saying something. The Buckwheat coconut & berry pancake topped with seasonal fruit, dairy free coconut yoghurt & toasted coconut chips are as good as you will find anywhere. I must admit that I was a little sceptical about trying the double expresso with coconut milk, maple syrup & peanut butter, only to find it was a winner.
21 Fountain StREET, Alexandria
The atmosphere that washes over you as you step into this canteen is one of health. Bursting with colours, fresh produce and delicious condiments, the impression of wellbeing and earthy goodness is hard to escape. Not that you would want to, the food is outstanding. Try the Parmesan Not-So-Scrambled Eggs, with Biodynamic eggs under shaved parmesan with real truffle oil, fresh tomato, 'something green' and Iggy's sourdough. You'll be amazed how good wholesome food can taste here.
